Boot Space and CNG Configuration: One of the compromises often associated with CNG vehicles is reduced boot space due to the large CNG tank. However, Tata Motors has addressed this concern in the Altroz iCNG. While the standard Altroz offers a generous 345 liters of boot space, the Altroz iCNG still provides a reasonable 210 liters. This is achieved by utilizing two smaller CNG tanks, each with a capacity of 30 liters, totaling 60 liters. Additionally, the spare tire has been ingeniously relocated beneath the car, freeing up space in the boot.

Engine: Tata Altroz packs a BS6 Phase II engine with better refinement & much reduced NVH levels compared to older variants. This engine generates a max power of 88 PS @6000rpm & max torque of 115 Nm in petrol mode & 73.5 PS & torque of 103 Nm in CNG mode.

The engine has been well refined for CNG usage & can pull effortlessly in 1st / 2nd gear as well without any vibrations. Tata claims to have tuned the engine to perform almost same in both fuel types. Thus, fuel switching between CNG & petrol is barely felt that is due to the common Engine Control Unit (ECU) which controls the air-fuel ratio, engine output etc. The car is very well suited for daily city usage & for office commuters with once in a while highway long drives.
